Chapter 3: Black Scales

Dark Small Medium Large Original Scroll to Bottom

Su Yusong released his grip, dropped the wooden stick, and stumbled as he fell down

Su Yu was startled and stumbled back, falling directly out. She felt that Su Yu's left hand was extraordinarily strong; with just a tug, she was pulled and fell out.

"Quick, run away!" Upon seeing this, several other students immediately screamed, disregarding Su Yu, and took the opportunity to flee in all directions.

What is going on? Is this green-skinned monster weak? Or has this black crystal absorbed too much and thus its effectiveness has deteriorated?

Some people were also watching the back door, eager to push aside the desk blocking the entrance and escape through the door, but they feared that their actions would attract the attention of the monster, making them the first to be attacked

With a swing of his left arm, Su Yu, suffering from a broken right arm and in excruciating pain, let out a wild scream and hurled the wooden stick in his hand at his opponent's head, then lunged forward.

With ten fingers connected to the heart, the pain of a broken finger bone is unimaginable. Su Yu howled in agony, yet he clutched the wooden stick tightly. The black scales on the back of his left hand reappeared, and with an explosive force, Su Yu instinctively threw a punch.

They were able to escape, and this opportunity was also created for them by Su Yu

This time, Su Yu reacted slightly late; although he knocked one of the green-skinned monsters away with a single strike, he was hit by another green-skinned monster.

Su Yu cried as she rushed over, shaking Su Yu and shouting frantically: "Su Yu, Su Yu, wake up!"

Perhaps it was the extraordinary power he possessed in his left hand, or perhaps it was because he had already killed two green-skinned monsters, or it could be that Su Yu inherently had this talent for combat. In any case, at this moment, his mind was racing incredibly fast, to the point where he could hardly believe that he was the same Su Yu who often failed exams and was regarded as a waste by his teachers.

Su Yu shouted wildly, turned around to grab his wooden stick, raised it in his hand, and then fiercely struck the head of the green-skinned monster.

At this moment, the outside seems to have become eerily quiet. The remaining dozen or so living individuals in the classroom can only perceive a haze before their eyes. As three green-skinned monsters enter, a sense of fear engulfs the hearts of everyone.

Monster—"Su Yu screamed, not knowing where he found the strength. He curled his legs up and kicked upwards, landing a perfect strike on the green-skinned monster that was pouncing down. With both hands outstretched, he clearly saw the moment he caught the wooden stick that the green-skinned monster was swinging down. Then, he let out a cry of agony.

Ah—" Su Yu fell to the ground in pain, and the three monsters launched their attacks almost simultaneously, actually charging at Su Yu from three different directions.

Only then did Lei Xin and a few others fall to the ground, the desks that had been piled up also collapsed, and the front door of the classroom fell to the ground

In a moment of crisis, Su Yu instinctively extended his right arm

It was Su Yu who killed those two green-skinned monsters

Two green-skinned monsters stopped, swinging their clubs to block, while another green-skinned monster circled around and lunged at Su Yu

Su Yu would certainly not miss the opportunity, enduring the excruciating pain in his left arm as if it were broken, and wildly swung the bat to strike.

"I never expected that Su Yu would care about me so much..." Su Yu felt a bit dazed, and a thought suddenly crossed his mind. Then he heard a loud "boom," followed by several male and female classmates exclaiming in shock. Su Yu's heart tightened, and he became alert once again

The crisp sound of "crack" echoed as the head of the green-skinned monster shattered like a rotten watermelon, splattering green juice all over Su Yu's hands and face

From the shattered head, a tiny black crystal-like object flew out, rushing into Su Yu's left hand, merging into it at a speed almost imperceptible to the naked eye, disappearing without a trace

Some individuals were continuously pressing their phones, repeatedly dialing the emergency number, yet there was not a trace of signal.

Among them, only Qin Jiagui shouted angrily and grabbed a nearby chair to throw it at the three monsters

Finally, the third complete black scale has emerged

A new surge of power immediately emerged from the originally turbulent external force, amplifying its strength. Looking at the back of the left hand, a small patch of black scales surfaced again, but this time it was only a half-sized piece, much smaller than the previous two.

Strange thoughts emerged in Su Yu's mind as the other two green-skinned monsters charged forward with frenzied howls

Several boys huddled together, trembling all over, gripping the tables and chairs, preparing to fight to the death. In their extreme fear, they no longer knew what it meant to be afraid

Finally, the front and *picture* book doors were smashed and collapsed. The other two green-skinned monsters also ceased their assault on the windows and back door, turning together to rush towards the front door. Along with the green-skinned monster that had broken open the front door, the three monsters slowly walked in.

Apart from his left hand, there was no sign of any unusual strength in the rest of his body. As he kicked with both feet, although he struck the green-skinned monster, he did not anticipate that the force from the opponent was so strong that it caused his legs to tremble, almost as if they were about to break under the pressure.

With a muffled sound, the green-skinned monster emitted a low, mournful wail, its head bursting apart and flying backward. Among the debris, a black crystal shot out, darting into Su Yu's left hand like a flash of lightning

With this grip of the left hand, an immense power surged forth continuously, and this time, the extraordinary force was even more powerful than before

On the back of Su Yu's left hand, two black scales, approximately the size of half a fingernail, protruded. Could this be due to having killed two green-skinned monsters and absorbed two crystals?

Three green-skinned monsters charged forward together, leaving Su Yu with no choice but to flee. However, after he threw a wooden table, two of them stopped to block it, while the third one circled around the table and lunged at him. In that instant, an opportunity arose, perhaps lasting one or two seconds, or maybe three or four seconds; at least in front of him, it became a chance for Su Yu to face only this one green-skinned monster.

With a sudden burst of force, this table flew up with a "whoosh" and smashed out.

As three monsters lunged at him simultaneously, a surge of fear flooded Su Yu's mind. He extended his left hand and gripped the wooden stick he had snatched from the green-skinned monster earlier.

Suddenly, Su Yu realized that this green-skinned monster was not intelligent

Su Yu let out a terrible scream as the green-skinned monster seized the opportunity and immediately lunged forward, raising its club with both hands, intent on killing Su Yu

A sharp pain pierced through his chest as a monster's hand tore away a piece of flesh from his torso. At that very moment, Su Yu's left fist came crashing down.

The students in the packed classroom all stared at Su Yu as if they were dumbfounded at that moment

With a loud "bang," green juice and fresh blood mixed together and burst out along with a green orb. One of the eyeballs of this green-skinned monster was violently forced out of its socket by a terrifying force.

With a loud "bang," the blow struck his right arm, causing Su Yu to scream in agony as his right arm was severed. Fortunately, it was due to the wooden stick in his left hand colliding with the wooden stick of another green-skinned monster first. Although the green-skinned monster was knocked back, Su Yu also staggered back a few steps, which prevented his right arm from taking the full impact due to his retreating posture

Class monitor Lei Rui's face was filled with a struggle, anxiously glancing at Su Yu and then at the door. She was equally terrified and wanted to escape, yet instinctively felt that she should not leave Su Yu behind.

In an explosive display of strength, it was terrifying beyond measure; the wooden stick struck the green-skinned monster's club, and Su Yu lunged forward once more, pinning the green-skinned monster beneath him.

As Qin Jiaguo had just risen halfway from the ground, he saw Su Yu, like a malevolent spirit, covered in blood, wielding a wooden stick that originally belonged to the green-skinned monster, striking down at its head and the * picture * book bag.

"Step back." Su Yu gritted his teeth, his right hand, abdomen, and legs all ached, his face contorted in pain. Gritting his teeth, he extended his left hand to pull Su Yu behind him.

Su Yu felt an inexplicable stir in her heart, yet she turned and fled in the opposite direction, extending her left hand with the wooden stick towards the underside of one of the tables, and then swung it down heavily.

In this classroom, two bloodied green-skinned monsters have collapsed, seemingly causing the three other monsters to slow their pace, their eyes filled with uncertainty, before they all turned to look at Su Yu

Otherwise, with this blow, the right arm would inevitably turn into a mass of flesh and bone, but fortunately, it has only been fractured.

With a loud "bang," two wooden sticks collided. My left arm throbbed painfully as if it were breaking, but the green-skinned monster fared even worse. Its palm split open, the wooden stick flew out of its hand, and a ghostly face revealed a hint of shock and fear.

The opportunity must not be missed; Su Yu proactively stepped forward, his left arm's ability surging. He faintly sensed that his strength seemed to surpass that of the green-skinned monster

The green-clad monster let out two "gurgling" sounds before Su Yu smashed its face with a punch, and the fourth crystal was absorbed into his palm

A girl climbed to the window on the other side, looking down at the third floor with a face full of fear, waiting for the monster to pounce. Gritting her teeth, she jumped down, knowing that jumping from the third floor might not necessarily result in death. Even if she ended up with broken arms and legs, it would still be better than having her skull crushed and losing her life

A conservative estimate would suggest that at least two finger bones have been broken

However, the injury to his right hand was even more severe. At the moment when Su Yu gripped the wooden stick tightly with both hands, he could clearly hear the sound of bones fracturing in his right hand
